~ Thirubalasakyam ~
Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6).

Thirubalasakyam or Holy Childhood is an association of children who have not received First Holy Communion. It is an organization set up to mould the religious life of the growing children and instills wisdom and Christian values in them so that they grow up as valuable for the family, the Church, the society and God.

Origin of  Thirubalasakhyam

Holy Chid Hood or Thirubalasakhyam is primarily established in 1843. Bishop.Charles D Forbin Jakson ,   the Bishop of Nancy Dioceses , in France,is the Founder of this association. In 1922, Pope Pius X, declared this association as one of the  Church’s pontifical organization. In 1950, Pope Pius X, address the whole Catholic Church to institute this organization in every parish for younger children who have not received Holy Communion. Holy Child Hood or Thirubalasakyam celebrates its feast on 2nd Sunday of February every year.
Thirubalasakhyam is established in Holy Family Syro-Malabar Catholic  Church Arizona, in 2011 by the guidance of Rev.Fr,Mathew Munjanattu. Children are the future of the Church  and Nation. As  parents / catholic it is our responsibility to bring them up in the faith and grace of Jesus Christ. The main aim is to make the little children filled with love for Infant Jesus, to encourage them to do little services motivated by the love for Infant Jesus. "He who loves his son chastises him often, that he may be his joy when he grows up." —Sirach 30:1.

Patron: Infant Jesus.

Sub-patrons - Mother Mary, St. Joseph and Guardian Angel.

Motto: Believe in Jesus; Live in Jesus.

The children of the parish who have not received First Holy Communion from second grade and up are members of this association.

The Catechism teachers of the 2nd,3rd, and 4th grade.

We aim to bring the little children together for prayer and other activities on every forth Sunday prior to Holy Mass 3pm-4pm. The activities include teaching, catholic daily prayers, Holy Mass prayers, devotional songs, stories of saints and Holy Bible. Children could participate in competitions like quiz, speech, song etc.related to catholic faith. The goal is that,to make the children aware of ” We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Henry ward tells “Every charitable act is a stepping stone toward heaven.” They also get the opportunity to contribute in leadership. Organizing, participating, and governing in charitable activities under the guidance of their teachers, which would make them face the challenging world in a special way.

Prayer to the Holy Childhood.

O Dear sweet Infant Jesus, I offer You my will, that You strengthen it, my mind that You inspire it; my memory that You fill it; my wishes and desires, that You cleanse them, I sacrifice to You; my intentions that You guide them, all my inner and outer activities, that You make them sacred. All I am and all I have is Yours. Your love for me is my hope and trust. Hear me and grant that I may never leave you.
